R.I.S.E.

Our Motto: The motto of our women's department is RISE which stands for Recognizing I Signify Excellence. Excellence doesn't mean we're perfect, it simply means we are committed to a spirit of excellence. In other words, our First Lady Natoya is encouraging the women to be the best version of themselves in day-to-day living, especially in their walk with Christ. Our motto is intended to remind women that no matter their age, background, or race, and no matter what happened in their past or what's happening today, they are God's Masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10) and beautifully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14). They are excellent!

Goal: Our goal is to cultivate a vibrant, thriving, and relevant women's ministry that meets the unique needs of all the women here at Emmanuel. We are proudly a multigenerational and multicultural church and dedicated to ensuring that all women feel seen and important and no one falls through the cracks or feels forgotten. While we enjoy planning events, celebrating each other's gifts and talents and fellowshipping with one another, we are also concerned about individual's spiritual growth and committed to cultivating a safe, supportive and meaningful ministry experience for all women.

Business & Professional Women

Emmanuel’s Business & Professional Women empower women to grow in faith, purpose, and community. We create spaces for connection, inspiration, and impact—helping women, professionally and personally, as they live out their calling with excellence.  This area of ministry is a longstanding staple not only in our local church but also in the International Department of Women of the Church of God in Christ. 

GLOE (Golden Ladies of Emmanuel)

GLOE is the Mother’s Board reimagined. We honor the wisdom and grace of our seasoned women while stepping boldly into new ways of serving, leading, and inspiring. Not your traditional church Mother’s Board, GLOE is a vibrant community of Golden Ladies making an impact for Christ in a fresh and powerful way.

Chat N Chew

Chat N Chew is a spirited fellowship of women of all ages to come together for real talk and real connection. Over delicious bites - both savory and sweet - we discuss topics that matter most to women of God, inspiring faith, sisterhood, and spiritual growth in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Power Walk

The Power Walk is a biennial women-led fundraiser that fuels both faith and fitness! This church-wide event promotes healthy habits while raising funds for meaningful Emmanuel projects and initiatives. Together, we're walking in purpose, strengthening our temple, and building God's house one step at a time.

Rise 'N' Times

The newsletter is an official nod to the Emmanuel Women's Department motto, RISE, and a wink to our city's most prominent newspaper, The Los Angeles Times. For those who are deep thinkers, you'll also find that RISE 'N' TIMES is a subliminal message to rise in times trouble and adversity - don't give up, be steadfast and trust God through the process. The T.E.A. is a fellowship hosted by the business and professional women of Emmanuel. T.E.A. is an acronym that stands for Talk Engage and Aspire. Just as the acronym expresses, this is our opportunity to come together to Talk about what is really going on, Engage and network with like - minded professional women of God, and Aspire to obtain more from God, and more from our careers.
